Etymologie:
condiscipulus (lat. = Schulkamerad) eine Anspielung auf das gemeinsame Vorkommen mit dem ähnlichen Corydoras oiapoquensis.

Diese langschnäuzige Art ist das "Gegenstück" vom kurzschnäuzigen Corydoras oiapoquensis und lebt auch in der Natur mit diesem zusammen.
